ha ha
I could relate to the beginning of the post, but I think I've never stumbled upon a keygen with music. But the idea, this challenge of making visual/audio intro with a minimal storage use is quite interesting, from a programming point of view. or so I think. I'm not programming myself, so I couldn't tell. But it does seem like an art-form, with it's own boundaries and conventions.

cool music, btw.

Maxima sounds like a great idea but it really isn't ready for mainstream. I've spent an hour going through all the steps and debug procedures and it doesn't work. Period. I doubt it would gain many adherents in college due to the fuss to get it to work. Of course, you get what you pay for, but Octave is a much more mature and stable solution.

Thanks !

As I tried to explain in the video, the 5 seconds recording time was only for experimentation.
I'd like to be able to use push buttons in order to record/stop/mute etc.

great project and nice documeted :)
i'm also a bass player and I also wanted to create a looper... I thought about a rec, stop and a play button... not only 5 sec. record time. but till now, i have too much other projects.

i posted your project in the free encyclopadie for diy (this is till now only in german, except your looper ;) ):

Sweet project, iv been wanting to make one of these for a while. You may want to consider using this as the recorder, http://www.winbond-usa.com/en/content/view/160/290/.
its relatively cheap and it has up to 2 min recording time. Zeh sabbaba

woah, i don't think you need to take it that far! It's been a while since I did FX pedals, but i think I remember a really simple solution to the popping - it was to place a small cap (i think it was on order of pFs) across the switch leads (ie, from signal to ground).
