Wikislate.com is up!
February 20, 2009 – 10:55 amZeke‘s comment about Wikislate being down has inspired me to fix and upgrade my script.
I have also decided to put it under a new domain of its own – wikislate.com
There’s a bunch of new features (because the old script was so basic…) that focus on ease of use.
Wikislate is a tool for translating nouns, and was designed for translation of technical terms. It uses Wikipedia as its data-source and automates a process that I was doing manually for a while, and is described in elzr’s blog and in my introduction of the old version.
Enjoy =)

I am inspired by this creative use of existing datasets. It is really cool to see the relationships between languages in this format, a tight list of similiarity.
I don’t see a listing for Japanese though.

Thank you both !
@Kurisu: isn’t 日本語 Japanese? I guess it could be quite hard to find it in the list, I may have to think about some better UI.
In the meantime you can use this url: http://www.wikislate.com/index.php?source=ja and this will set Japanese as your default language

Hey, great job.
I hada a similar idea in my head for some time, and I’ve implemented a similar system to Wikislate. It relies on a slightly different approach, and on some fancier interface technology.
Take a look, if you will, and let me know what you think:
